Leadership Opportunities
At Moirs Point, we have a wide range of leadership opportunities for you to be involved with. Each Holiday Camp requires a team of volunteers and leaders who love Jesus and are willing to come and spend a week hanging out with an awesome group of young people.
Being a leader or volunteer at a holiday camp is one of the most rewarding and coolest things you can do during your holidays. In the space of a few days, you get to meet new people, develop and grow talents and gifts that God has given you, and hang out with a bunch of awesome energetic kids while being a light for Jesus and making a positive difference in the lives of those around you!
LiT
For anyone 13+ wanting to become a leader but has yet to lead before or needs some more training in being a leader.
Cabin Leaders
Leaders who have either been through the LiT program or had previous leadership experience and show they have the skills and capabilities to guide a cabin alongside another Cabin Leader.
Volunteer Leaders
Volunteer Leaders are those who are 18+. You play a crucial role in running a Holiday Camp. You get to encourage participation in activities, help with meal times, supporting and encouraging Cabin Leaders and LiT, and comforting homesick children.
Becoming a Cabin Leader
Thank you for your interest in becoming a LiT or a Cabin Leader at Moirs Point Kids Camp.
To become a leader, we ask that you attend a Leaders Training Camp. Leaders Training Camp is a great place for you to get to know the camp, staff, and other leaders and for the staff to get to know you.
During the Leaders Training Camp, their will be Bible Time, practical training, plenty of activities, amazing food and lots of fun to be had. Leaders Training Camp is an opportunity for you to kick start your unique and awesome leadership skills and have opportunities to put them into actions. Skills for at camp and in your day-to-day life.
If there doesn’t seem to be a Leaders Training Camp coming up soon, click on “More Info” below and fill in your details. We may have a leaders hangout or induction day that you could join.
Interested in becoming a Leader
To become a leader, please click on “More Info” below and fill in your details. A staff member from Moirs Point will phone you and have a chat and answer any questions that you may have. If you would like to come have a look around the Camp and meet the staff before a Leaders Training or Kids Camp we would love to do this.
After we have chatted or met in person, we will email you a promo code allowing you to fill in an application form for the Kids Camp you would like to attend. On the application form, we do require you to provide two references – one for a Pastor/Leader from your church and the second for somebody you have known for 2+ years.
If you are over 17, we will require you to fill out a Police Vetting Form and provide two forms of photo ID. Once we have received all your details, we will look over them, call your references and see if you’re ready to take on the responsibility of becoming a volunteer leader at our holiday camps.
If the Moirs Point team thinks you’re ready, they will invite you to lead at one of our holiday camps, most likely as a Leader in Training (LiT). However, if you demonstrate more maturity and experience, we may extend an invitation for you to be a cabin leader. If we think you’re not quite ready, don’t worry. We will ask you to attend another of our leaders training camps.
